Vehicles between 15 and 28 tonnes are now able to access the valley with Council permission, under stop/slow conditions.

As the area remains a construction site, safety procedures must be followed.

For vehicles between 15 and 28 tonnes to access the site:

• Please email the Manager Transport and Public Access, Nicole Hume at nhume@bmcc.nsw.gov.au with at least two working days’ notice to obtain a permit for the heavy vehicle access.
• A permit will be required to be carried and shown to traffic control on site. Traffic controllers will then coordinate access through the site.

Please note that if the same vehicle needs to access the valley multiple times, only one permit will be required. Vehicles over 15 tonnes that are not scheduled to enter the valley will be turned back to ensure safety is maintained on site.

The Sydney Fish Market 36-hour trading period will start from 5am Monday 23 December to 5pm on Christmas Eve, Tuesday 24 December.

Heavy traffic is expected on the Western Distributor approaching the Pyrmont and Glebe off-ramps as well as on local roads in the area surrounding the Fish Market.

Motorists are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time as parking will be in very high demand.

Parking is available at Sydney Fish Market car park, access via Bank St, and also nearby at Sydney Secondary College on Pyrmont Bridge Rd.

Motorists should follow the direction of traffic controllers, particularly if car parks are at capacity.

Pedestrian access to the markets will be via the corner of Bank St and Pyrmont Bridge Rd, Pyrmont Bridge Rd near Wattle St and opposite the Fish Market Light Rail stop on Bank St.

A-League Double Header: A-League Women kick-off at 4:50pm and A-League Men kick-off at 7:35pm. Full-time approx 9:30pm.

Traffic will be heavy on roads approaching and within Parramatta as fans travel to the game. Allow extra travel time on Parramatta Rd, Church St, Victoria Rd, James Ruse Dr and Pennant Hills Rd.

Motorists should also exercise caution as pedestrian activity will be high on roads between Parramatta Interchange and the stadium.

Be patient leaving car parks as traffic will be heavy and follow the directions of traffic controllers and Police.

A-League Men: Central Coast Mariners v Adelaide United at Industree Group Stadium. Kick-off at 7.35pm and full time around 9.35pm.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium including on the Central Coast Hwy, Pacific Hwy, Brisbane Water Dr, Donnison St and Mann St as fans travel to and from the match during the already busy weeknight evening peak.

Dane Drive will close from 5.30pm between the Central Coast Highway and Donnison Street for the safety of pedestrians in the area.

Motorists should allow extra travel time and be aware of increased pedestrian activity on roads in the area.

Large crowds are expected at the Carols in The Domain. Heavy traffic and delays are expected within the Sydney CBD, including on Macquarie St, College St and William St.

Roads around The Domain Sydney will close for crowd safety before, during and after the event.

• From 8pm: Art Gallery Rd will be closed at Hospital Rd until 11.30pm.
• From 9.30pm: Sections of College St, Hospital Rd, Hunter St, Macquarie St, Prince Albert Rd, St Mary’s Rd and St James Rd may close at the direction of NSW Police.

Parking in the area is limited and expected to reach capacity early. A dedicated drop-off zone will be located on Hospital Rd at Art Gallery Rd.

Motorists should allow plenty of extra travel time and watch out for pedestrians in the area.

The Parade (Batlow Rd) will be closed between Albury St and Lauder St from 4pm to 11pm for the event.

BBL: Sydney Sixers v Melbourne Renegades at Sydney Cricket Ground. Start at 7:15pm, finish at approx. 10.10pm.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching Moore Park as fans travel to the precinct.

Motorists should allow extra travel time on roads including the Eastern Distributor, Moore Park Rd, Cleveland St, Anzac Pde, Oxford St and Lang Rd.

Changed traffic conditions:

• Driver Ave will be partially closed outside the SCG before the game from 4:45pm and will reopen after crowds have cleared the area. No through-traffic will be available on Driver Ave, however access to EP3 grass car park maintained from Lang Road.  Car park open from 4:15pm. EP2 will be closed.
• Special event clearways will be in effect on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 6am to 11pm on sections of Cleveland St and Fitzroy St, and from 3pm to 11pm on Albion St and Moore Park Rd.

Significant road closures and widespread parking restrictions will be in effect across the Sydney CBD and Pyrmont on New Year's Eve. In the city, roads start closing from as early as 4am, roads in Circular Quay and The Rocks close by 2pm, followed by major closures in the city centre and Pyrmont from 7pm. Roads start reopening from 1.30am NYD. The Cahill Expressway close from 6am on NYE, followed by the full closure of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from 11pm ahead of the midnight fireworks.

Do not drive on NYE - parking is limited and access to properties and car parks will be restricted. Catch public transport.

KEY ROAD CLOSURES:

• 4am 31 Dec – 6am 1 Jan: Macquarie St north of Bridge St to the Sydney Opera House, and roads in the Royal Botanic Garden & Domain.
• 6am - 5.30am 1 Jan: the Cahill Expressway lanes 7 + 8 on the Harbour Bridge and overpass at Circular Quay, including High St and Mount St on-ramps. The Cahill Walkway will close at 6am. Use the Harbour Bridge deck lanes or the tunnel instead. Note, Warringah Freeway Upgrade works including lane and on-ramp closures will commence from Thu 26 Dec.
• 6am – 4am: Roads in Millers Point including Argyle Pl, High St, Kent St and Windmill St, and in the city centre including sections of Bridge St, Macquarie St north of Bent St and Phillip Ln.
• 6am 31 Dec – 10am 1 Jan: Circular Quay West from George St. A section of George St in The Rocks will remain closed until 2pm on 1 Jan.
• 12pm midday – 4am: In Barangaroo, Hickson Rd between Watermans Quay and Towns Pl, and Barton St will close.
• 2pm – 4am: roads in Circular Quay and The Rocks north of Bridge St will close including sections of George St/Hickson Rd to Pottinger St, Grosvenor St including Harbour Bridge off-ramp, Bridge St, Phillip St, Young St, Pitt St, Loftus St, Lower Fort St, Cumberland St, Harrington St, Argyle St, and other local roads.
• 4pm - 4am: In Haymarket, Railway Colonnade at Central Station will close. Iron Wharf Pl from Darling Dr at Darling Harbour will close until 1am.
• 5pm – 4am: roads in the CBD centre including sections of Bridge St, Pitt St, Bent St, Hunter St, O’Connell St, Elizabeth St, Phillip St, Castlereagh St, College St, St Marys Rd, Yurong Pkwy. In Millers Point, Hickson Rd, Kent St, Dalgety Rd, Towns Place and local roads. In Pyrmont north, sections of Harris St and Pirrama Rd.
• 6pm – 4am: Darling Island Rd and local roads in Pyrmont will close.
• 7pm – 4am: roads in the CBD centre from including Macquarie St, Elizabeth St, Castlereagh St, Pitt St, King St, Market St, Bathurst St, Park St and Hospital Rd. In Pyrmont, sections of Pirrama Rd will close and in Darling Harbour, Wheat Rd and Harbour St.
• From 7pm travel east/west across the city is via Goulburn St or the Cross City Tunnel. From the Harbour Bridge there'll be no access to Harbour St, use York St or Glebe Off-ramps.
• 8pm – 1am: In Darling Harbour, Darling Dr between Murray St and Pier St. Vehicles from car parks permitted to exit southbound only onto Darling Drive.
• 10pm – 4am: roads from Wynyard to Town Hall including York St, Clarence St, Margaret St.
• 11pm – 1.30am: Sydney Harbour Bridge closed in both directions and Western Distributor closed between Pyrmont and the city. Roads in CBD West also closed including Sussex St, Kent St, and all roads in King St Wharf/Barangaroo.
• 11pm – 4am: closures in CBD South around Hyde Park including sections of Liverpool, Pitt, Castlereagh, Bathurst, Elizabeth Streets. In Barangaroo, sections of Sussex St, Napoleon St will close. At Central, Eddy Ave and local roads will close.

• From 11.30pm NYE until 2am NYD: sections of Bradley's Head Rd, Prince Albert St, Thompson St and Whiting Beach Rd will be closed.

• From 1pm NYE to 3am NYD on sections of Spit Rd, Athol Wharf Rd, Bradley Head Rd and Whiting Beach Rd.

Special event clearways will be in effect on various roads in Kirribilli, Lavender Bay, McMahons Point, Milsons Point and North Sydney between 1pm NYE and 3am NYD. On some streets clearways in Milsons Point, Kirribilli and McMahons Point will be in effect from 6pm 30 Dec.

Clearways will also be in effect on both sides of Falcon St and Military Rd between Crows Nest and Mosman from 3pm to 3am.

Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types, and apply even to local residents and TfNSW Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in signposted clearways will be towed and a fee applies. MOUNT OUSLEY INTERCHANGE PROJECT
